Daniel De Menezes is a cinematographer from toronto,canada. he started his filmmaking journey working in post production. On completion of his Master’s in Film and Media Production from the New York Film Academy, Los Angeles he established himself as an award winning Director and Director of Photography working on various short films, music videos and commercials.
Daniel has directed multiple award winning short films that have screened at Cannes Short Film Festival and pays keen attention to details. He is known for his unique style in telling a story through the lens and is constantly perfecting his art at sculpting light with every new project he takes on. He shot the Official Music Video for the Canadian Legend Gord Downie’s “Useless Nights” from his latest album titled “Away is Mine”.
Today he works internationally as a Cinematographer on various narrative films, Commercials and Music Videos. He has shot commercials for a variety of brands like starbucks canada, vizzy, danzante wines etc. he is also a classical pianist and has studied music since he was 5 so when he’s not on set he’s on the piano playing away his favorite Bach or Mozart piece.
He has recently signed on as Cinematographer on the feature film “Tito - Peace of Heaven” directed by Andreina Perez which is going to star Emily Tosta and is in pre production at the moment.
